Ginger-Lime Salmon

Salmon is a delicious fish, but eating any fish today is a slippery slope .  Comparisons between farmed or wild and the subject of sustainability have most people dazed and confused. Thankfully their are organizaations like Ocean Wise that strive to educate and empower the consumer about sustainable seafood.  One major grocery chain that is supporting this movement is Loblaw Companies Limited (Loblaw) has made a commitment to source all seafood sold in its retail locations from sustainable sources by the end of 2013. The commitment covers all canned, frozen, fresh, wild and farmed seafood products, in all categories.

Sustainable Salmon purchased at Loblaws
 Ginger-Lime Salmon
4 6oz fillets of salmon
2 Tbsp chopped cilantro
1 clove minced garlic
1 Tbsp minced ginger
Zest and juice of 1 lime
1 green onion chopped (green and white)
1 Tbsp Tamari

Preheat oven to 400 degrees
Place salmon on sheet pan
Combine remaining ingredients in a bowl
Dived evenly over each salmon portion.
Place in oven and bake (12 min per inch of thickness)

Fish is the perfect fast food.  Healthy and quick to prepare, make sustainable seafood a part of your weeknight dinners!
