"Shake" up Your Morning Smoothie!

Awesome Cuisinart Soup Maker & Blender!
I was recently in a "Battle of the Smoothies" competition where I competed against other food writers, bloggers, nutritionists and well experienced moms and dads who find smoothies and easy way to get nutrition into there kids! It was a black box style competition where the ingredients aren't revealed until just before the competition begins.  The only mandatory ingredient to use was a Protein powder made by Truestar.  Going into the smoothie battle I had no idea which direction to take, so when the 10 minute clock began I just flew by the seat of my pants.

My weakness for coffee and the fact that I hadn't had one all day was the driving force behind my smoothie creation! In true insatiable fashion some powerhouse foods to fortify the basic flavours were a must!.  Think of this as your daily java moch-frappa-coco delicous coffee drink pumped up!

Java Jumpstart Smoothie
1 Ripe frozen banana
1/2 Avocado
1/2 cup Blueberries
1/2 cup Plain Yogurt
1-2 cups of Chocolate Milk
1 Tbsp Maple Syrup
1 tsp cinnamon
1 cup ice
1 scoop of Truestar Protein Powder

Place all ingredients in blender and blend on medium until smooth and creamy!
