Stuffed Jalapenos
I've made many fancy appetizers in my time - this is not one of them. However, this is becoming my "can you bring those amazing jalapeno's with you" appetizer recipe. It just goes to show, that sometimes less, is more. Amazingly scrumptious and super simple to make, this jalapeno appetizer is sure to add spice to your next get together.
Stuffed Jalapenos
10 Jalapenos, sliced lengthwise.
Use a small spoon to remove seeds and white membrane. If you like it hot leave them in.
1 cup plain cream cheese
3/4 cup grated cheddar
2 green onions, chopped finley
1 tsp fresh ground pepper
5 slices of bacon, slice each piece lengthwise then in half.
Preheat Oven to 350 degrees
Mix together the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, green onions and pepper.
Fill each jalapeno half with about 1 Tbsp of cream cheese
Take a piece of the bacon and wrap it around the jalapeno
Place jalapenos on a cookie sheet and bake for 20 minutes.
Tip: Wear gloves when working with the jalapenos. You may not feel the heat at the time, but the oils can remain on your fingers for hours, making everything you touch ~ burn. No more explanation required!
Jalapeno peppers that are smoked are called chipolte! They are either kept whole and packed in adobe sauce or ground into a powder.
